Another option for creating your back neck shape: instead of using your pathfinder divide you can try drawing a shape larger than needed and use the Object- Arrange- Send to back function.  This allows you to adjust the front neckline at any point without having to adjust the back. You can use this technique for many parts of the garment.

Cleaning up stray anchor points will keep your art board clean. Sometimes, especially when using the pen tool, you create unused anchor points by mistake. By default Illustrator view is in “Preview” view. This will allow us to see colors, effects etc. By switching to “Outline” view you can only see the vector points and paths even when they have no stroke / fill.
