In Section 7 we will learn several functions to create this paisley repeat pattern. You can apply these same ideas to create your own design. The total time for Section 7 is 29.87 minutes.

7.1 PEN MOTIF (2.21)

To follow along, download the Lesson 7 file in the downloads section of the site under “Lesson Files”. Use the Pen tool to create the 1st motif of this paisley pattern. You will also use the offset path function and simplify function.

We will create a simple dot pattern brush to eventually use in our pattern.

Use several tools and functions to create this flower that will be converted into a symbol. We will use shape tools, shape modes, shape builder, rotate and repeat function.
