Join OR Group

Many of my students confuse the “Join” and “Group” functions. Joining is what you do to two open end points or anchors of a path.  When 2 open end points or anchors are Joined they are now connected. This is an essential function when drawing garment flats.
Grouping is what you do to 2 or more whole shapes or paths.  When objects are Grouped they move as one unit. This function is very useful when you have completed a whole garment or intricate parts of a garment such as a pocket with lots of detail.
These two functions CANNOT be interchanged.
